The use of AIR method in improving Introduction strudents listening skills in procedure text

Listening skills are an aspect that is quite important, especially in understanding procedure text. There are still many students who experience problems in listening caused by several factors, one of which is a lack of vocabulary, understanding accents, and less effective learning methods. One of the main factors that influences students' listening abilities is a lack of knowledge of English in real contexts. Many students do not have the opportunity to practice listening outside of class so they have difficulty when they are in listening situations.

Intrinsic motivation plays an important role in mastering listening skills, but there are still many students who are not yet motivated to listen, which has an impact on students' low attention and concentration.

To overcome this problem, using the AIR method can improve students' listening skills. Based on research, AIR shows a significant improvement. The AIR method was created to create a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience by combining auditory, intellectual and repetition elements. By applying this method it is hoped that students will not only be able to understand verbal instructions better, but also increase their involvement and motivation in the learning process.

The aim of the research was to evaluate the application of the AIR method in improving students' listening skills.

The research uses a quantitative survey approach. The aim is to evaluate the effect of using the AIR method on students' listening skills in understanding procedure text. Using a questionnaire as the main instrument aims to collect data regarding students' perceptions of the method applied and the impact on listening skills.

    Instruments include :

1. Demographic questions,

2. Questions about perceptions of the AIR method,

3. Questions about motivation and involvement,

4. Questions about difficulties faced.

The subject of this study is 3rd semester students of class C, with a total of 4-6 students. The selection of subject was carried out using puposive sampling technique, where students were selected based on the criteria that they had difficulty in listening.
