An Analysis of "Students Difficulties in Listening Comprehension of Procedure Text"

    Listening comprehension is an important part of learning a language, especially for students who are studying a second language. Among the different types of texts that students encounter, procedural texts those that provide instructions or guidelines on how to do something can be particularly challenging. These texts often require not just understanding specific words, but also the ability to follow instructions accurately, which can be affected by various factors. This study, titled "An Analysis of Students' Difficulties in Listening Comprehension of Procedure Text," aims to explore the specific challenges that students might face when trying to understand procedural texts in English. By identifying these difficulties, the study hopes to help develop more effective teaching methods that can improve students' listening skills and overall language learning.

  This research will use a qualitative approach, primarily through questionnaires as the main tool for collecting data. By distributing these questionnaires, the researchers will gather direct feedback from students about their experiences and the difficulties they face when listening to procedural texts. This method is expected to capture students' opinions and allow for a deeper understanding of the challenges they encounter. The expected findings may show that students struggle with limited vocabulary, different accents, the speed of spoken instructions, and difficulties in staying focused while listening. The data collected from the questionnaires is anticipated to provide a clear and detailed view of students' real experiences, highlighting the complexities of listening comprehension. The researchers will use these insights to create effective teaching recommendations that address the identified challenges. By adjusting teaching strategies to better meet students' needs, it is hoped that educators can enhance the learning experience and improve students’ ability to understand procedural texts.
