"The Effect of Using Explicit Instruction Strategy on Learners’ Listening Comprehension of Procedure Text"


The main aim of this study was to investigates the effect of using explicit instruction strategy on learners’ listening comprehension of procedure texts. Explicit instruction, which involves structured and clear step-by-step guidance, was applied to improve students’ ability to understand and follow the sequence of steps in procedure texts. The research was conducted with seven third-semester English Education students at IAIN Kediri, Indonesia, using a descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected through questionnaires after participants received explicit instruction via a procedure text video. The results indicate that explicit instruction significantly improved students’ listening comprehension by helping them identify key information, such as important informations and the sequence of steps. Participants reported increased confidence, motivation, and engagement in the learning process.
