The Role of Procedure Texts Podcast in Improving Skills
Abstract
This study explores the role of procedural text podcasts in enhancing students' listening skills in English language learning. Utilizing qualitative research methods, data was gathered through open-ended questionnaires administered to third-year students at IAIN Kediri. The findings reveal that while the frequency of podcast usage remains low among students, those who engage with podcasts more regularly report improvements in confidence and vocabulary acquisition. Challenges such as diverse accents and content complexity hinder some learners' comprehension. The research recommends integrating podcasts into the English curriculum to foster better listening skills and communication abilities.
Introduction
Listening plays a vital role in communication and foreign language learning. The accessibility of podcasts and other digital media can assist students in improving their English listening skills. However, not all students comprehend material equally, and issues such as limited vocabulary persist.

Findings
1. Frequency of Listening : Most respondents reported rarely using podcasts to learn procedural texts.
2. Impact on Confidence: Many students noted an increase in confidence through vocabulary mastery and pronunciation skills.
3. Understanding Procedural Texts: Podcasts were recognized as useful tools for understanding procedural texts and expanding vocabulary.
4. Challenges: Diverse accents and speaking speed posed barriers to content comprehension.
